Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe assures they will ‘not underestimate’ Atalanta in the Champions League quarter-final.

It will be a one-off showdown in Lisbon on August 12, as part of the Champions League Final Eight tournament.

“We’ve been training since June 22 and working towards this date,” Kimpembe told RMC Sport.

“It’s true that we would only have played two competitive games by then, but we’ll have no excuses about our fitness levels, as we’ve worked hard in training and everything is going well.”

This is Atalanta’s first ever Champions League campaign, but they will be in the tournament again next season, having already secured a top four Serie A finish.

“The team is not accustomed to being there, but this certainly isn’t a fluke season. Atalanta are still a dangerous, very attack-minded team. We’re fully aware of what they can do.

“I can assure you, we will not be underestimating them. I hope for a good game.”

Kylian Mbappé will not be taking part, as he badly sprained his ankle during the Coupe de France Final with Saint-Etienne and will be out for at least three weeks.
