Sevilla squad for Roma includes COVID case

Sevilla named their squad for the Europa League tie against Roma, including Nemanja Gudelj, who tested positive for COVID-19 this week.

The teams will face off on neutral turf in Germany for the Round of 16 on August 6.

It is curious to see that Gudelj is in the squad list, despite confirming this week that he had contracted the coronavirus.

The 28-year-old Serbia international announced he was the player who had tested positive.

Obviously, it’s unlikely Gudelj will be given the all-clear in time for the Roma game, but he could in theory recover for the rest of the tournament.

Sevilla squad for Roma: Vaclik, Bono, Javi Diaz; Jesus Navas, Reguilon, Escudero, Diego Carlos, Koundé, Sergi Gomez; Fernando, Gudelj, Jordan, Banega, Franco Vazquez, Oliver Torres, Ocampos, Suso; Munir, En-Nesyri, De Jong, Pablo Perez, Juanlu

Sevilla B-List: Alfonso, Adrián, Manuel Cortés, Berrocal, Genaro, Mena, Paco Fernández, Lara, Iván
