This was Zaniolo’s first start since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in January, which was also against the Bianconeri.

Gonzalo Higuain had opened the scoring for Juve, but Nikola Kalinic equalised from a Diego Perotti corner.

Perotti also converted a penalty awarded for a challenge on Riccardo Calafiori, then Zaniolo turned on the style by running from midfield to set up Perotti for the third goal.

It was Juve's first home defeat of the season, but also allowed Roma to end their amazing record of eight consecutive Serie A defeats in Turin.
