Cagliari may have strengthened their position to keep Radja Nainggolan after confirming former Roma tactician Eusebio Di Francesco as their new head coach.
Tuttomercatoweb claims Nainggolan played a role in getting Di Francesco to the Sardegna Arena and the former Giallorossi pair could in theory continue working together at Cagliari next season.
Nainggolan’s loan deal expires this summer and Inter have the final say, as the Belgian has two years left on his contract in Milan.
Cagliari President Tommaso Giulini hopes to keep Nainggolan and build the team around the veteran, but the high salary makes a permanent move unlikely.
TMW claims Giulini will meet with Inter and look for a solution to keep Nainggolan in Sardinia next season.
