Lecce have officially parted company with director of sport Mauro Meluso, amid reports they’ll bring back Pantaleo Corvino.
A statement was released this afternoon confirming the contract with Meluso had been interrupted early by mutual consent.
He had been in the role for four years, helping the club move from Serie C to Serie A.
According to Sportitalia writer Alfredo Pedullà, Meluso will be replaced by a very familiar face to Lecce, namely Corvino.
The 70-year-old transfer specialist oversaw perhaps Lecce’s best years in Serie A from 1998 to 2005.
He went on to Fiorentina – twice – and Bologna, but is now returning to the Stadio Via del Mare.
