Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi has claimed Domenico Berardi, Jeremie Boga and Manuel Locatelli are ‘ready for a big club’ but should only leave ‘to be protagonists’ at the top.
The trio have been linked with big moves this summer and the Neroverdi have been trying to fend off possible suitors for quite some time.
Another impressive season for Berardi has made him a transfer target for the umpteenth time, with Boga and Locatelli also mentioned as possible coups for the top teams in Italy.
But the coach at the Mapei Stadium has urged them to think twice before they jump at the chance to join a bigger club.
“They are all ready to take the step into a great team,” De Zerbi told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “But they must only go to be protagonists.
“It’s not good to be satisfied, in that way a talent and a career will be thrown away. The choices are decisive, and many trains pass by.
“It’s not true that it only passes once.”
