Inter January signing Christian Eriksen concedes there are differences between the Premier League and Italian football, but ‘it’s enjoyable and I like it.’
The Dane was again excluded from the starting XI in their 2-0 Europa League win over Getafe, but scored the second goal within a minute of coming on.
“When you come on from the bench, you always want to make the biggest impact you can on the game,” he told Inter TV.
“I was fortunate to be able to make the most of an opportunity which came my way, having just entered the fray. We killed off the match, which was a tough encounter, and managed to progress.”
Antonio Conte has said Eriksen is still adapting to Italian football and it’s something the former Tottenham Hotspur star doesn’t entirely disagree with.
“Premier League football is certainly more direct. You’re constantly running up and down the pitch. In Italy, meanwhile, more attention is paid to winning the ball back and managing certain moments of the match.
“I’ve had to deal with being man-marked at times. It’s a different kind of game from what I’m used to, but it’s enjoyable and I like it.”
Inter will be up against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League quarter-final on August 10.
“It’ll be a great game up against Bayer Leverkusen: they have good players and have done well in the cup.”
