Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong said Barcelona ‘did well’ to overcome Napoli in the last 16 of the Champions League and thinks the arrival of Miralem Pjanic will ‘make the team stronger’.
The 23-year-old felt Napoli ‘were a difficult opponent’ last weekend and said the Blaugrana 'did well’ to beat the Partenopei at Camp Nou.
“I think it was an OK match. I think we did well against a good team,” De Jong told beIN USA. “Napoli were a difficult opponent, but we had a good lead at all times.
“We got a good result in the first half, so we could relax a bit in the second.”
Barca have swapped Arthur Melo for Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic and the former Ajax youngster thinks the Bosnia international will make the Blaugrana even stronger.
“Pjanic is a great player and very good on the ball. I played against him last season, so I know he will make the team stronger.”
