Mattia Perin, owned by Juventus and currently on loan with Genoa, is the hot favourite to go in goal for Atalanta.
According to multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia, the Corriere dello Sport and Calciomercato.com, Perin is the first choice for La Dea.
Pierluigi Gollini suffered a knee ligament injury during the final game of the Serie A season and is out for at least two months.
Perin has already worked with coach Gian Piero Gasperini during their time together at Genoa, from 2014-16.
He spent the last eight months on loan at Genoa, making a full recovery from a recurring shoulder problem, and helped the Grifone avoid relegation.
His contract with Juventus runs to June 2022 and the 27-year-old currently earns €2.2m per year wages.
Perin had already been mentioned as part of negotiations when Juventus were trying to purchase Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata, and that approach could well be considered again.
