While rumours in England suggest Manchester United are offering him to Newcastle and Fulham, along with Inter, it’s reported Chris Smalling only wants Roma.
The asking price of €25m could not be met by Roma in their current state, but once the takeover of the club is complete next week, new patron Dan Friedkin should have the extra investment.
On top of that, the Corriere dello Sport and Sportitalia are confident Smalling only wants Roma and is prepared to slash his wages in order to get the deal through.
There are suggestions in the English media that Newcastle United and Fulham are interested in the centre-back.
Inter have also made an approach, especially as they have done deals with Manchester United before over Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.
However, Smalling is determined to make the move to Roma permanent after a revitalising season on loan.
