Right midfielder Valentino Lazaro has officially moved on loan from Inter to Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The Austrian arrived from Hertha Berlin last summer and returns to the German Bundesliga after a stint on loan at Newcastle in the second half of 2019-20.

“The 24-year-old Austria international, who played professionally with RB Salzburg, Hertha Berlin, Inter and Newcastle United, completed the medical tests at Borussia-Park on Tuesday and joined the retreat at Hotel Klosterpforte in Harsewinkel,” a statement read.

Sporting director Max Eberl added: “We are very happy that the loan went through and that Tino has chosen Borussia. He’s a very flexible player who will give our team even more quality and depth.”

Lazaro wrote on social media: “I can’t wait to play in the Bundesliga and the Champions League with this fantastic club.

“Inter fans: thanks for your messages. I was pleased to receive them all, but I decided to play next season in Germany. I wish you good luck for the Europa League Final and for next season.”
