Following last night’s 3-2 Europa League Final defeat to Sevilla, the coach yet again made clear his future is far from certain at the club, suggesting there is a ‘difference of views’ on how to proceed.

There will be a crisis summit next week involving Conte, President Steven Zhang, directors Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the date for the big showdown talks is Tuesday.

There are quite a few issues to be worked out, including transfer strategy, sales and purchases, but also the day-to-day running of the football club.

If Conte were to walk away, it’d fit the general pattern of his management career so far.

He took Bari to promotion into Serie A, signed a contract extension, then three weeks later resigned, protesting the club did not ‘have faith in my vision’ or want to give the support he needed.

Conte lasted just three months with Atalanta, then returned to Serie B with Siena only for more bitter rows with ultras and reporters.

Most famously, he walked out on Juventus two days into pre-season training after winning three consecutive Serie A titles.

He had said that Juve ‘wanted to eat for €10 in a restaurant where the dishes cost €100.’

Conte’s Chelsea exit was probably the most contentious, as it ended up in court with him winning £9m compensation for the dismissal.
