Atalanta can celebrate being bumped up to third seeds in the Champions League with Inter and Lazio, as Celtic were knocked out.
La Dea had been right on the cusp of the third level of the group phase draw, so were hoping one of the sides above them failed to make it through the preliminary rounds.
That has already happened, because Celtic crashed out at the first attempt, losing 2-1 at home against Hungarian side Ferencvaros.
It was their earliest Champions League exit in 15 years, but excellent news for Atalanta, who are going to be in the third pot when the group stage draw takes place in Athens on October 1.
Juventus are top seeds, while Inter, Lazio and Atalanta are third seeds.
The Bergamo side qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history for the 2019-20 campaign and reached the quarter-finals, losing only in stoppages against PSG.
They finished third in Serie A and qualified for the top European competition again.
