Multiple sources now state Milan have made a genuine push to snatch the 20-year-old from the hands of their rivals and it was confirmed by Brescia President Cellino.

“I appreciated the professionalism of Paolo Maldini, who is very much in the style of the historic Milan approach,” Cellino told Sky Sport Italia.

“I don’t want to add anything more on that, as I do not wish to be inopportune or too free with my words…

“Beppe Marotta always confirmed the strong interest that Inter have for the player, so I tried to avoid negotiations with other clubs, including ones from abroad.

“However, this lad needs to know what his future holds. I am in no rush, but Tonali is.”

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Milan proposal is €10m for the loan and an option to buy for a further €15-20m.

Inter will not make the Tonali move stick until they have sold other players first, but that is taking too much time.

La Repubblica even suggests this is part of Antonio Conte's strategy, as he would prefer Inter sign Arturo Vidal and Aleksandar Kolarov rather than Tonali.
