There are reports in Italy that Fiorentina have dropped Lucas Torreira in favour of Giacomo Bonaventura, letting Torino in for the Arsenal midfielder.
According to Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, the Viola have backed off their pursuit of Torreira and have no real intention of raising the offer.
Sky Sport Italia pundit Gianluca Di Marzio maintains the Tuscans are instead in talks with agent Mino Raiola for Bonaventura, who is now a free agent after a decade at Milan.
Bonaventura provides versatility, experience and is available free of charge.
This is the opening Torino were looking for, as they are eager to reunite Torreira with his old Sampdoria coach Marco Giampaolo.
Torreira might be a little too expensive for the Granata, so they’ll try to bring him in on loan with option to buy.
The alternative to Torreira for Toro is Lucas Biglia, also a free agent after his contract with Milan expired.
