The 84-year-old was rushed to hospital last night with symptoms that required thorough checks.

The 84-year-old was rushed to hospital last night with symptoms that required thorough checks.

“President Berlusconi, after the appearance of some symptoms, was admitted to the San Raffaele hospital in Milan as a precaution,” a statement from the staff read. “The clinical picture does not cause concern.

Forza Italia senator Licia Ronzulli appeared on Rai 3 to clarify: “Berlusconi spent the night in the hospital. After a morning that started a little badly, he is now well, he spent the night well.

“A small precautionary hospitalisation was needed to monitor the progress of COVID-19 but he is fine.”
