Inter forward Alexis Sanchez explained he wanted a return to Arsenal after his first training with Manchester United. ‘I asked my agent if I could cancel the contract’.
The Chile international moved on a free transfer to the Nerazzurri this summer, after having spent last season on loan in Milan.
Manchester United hijacked the deal for the former Udinese man in January 2018, as Sanchez revealed he had an agreement with Manchester City.
After having impressed with Arsenal in London, the 31-year-old endured a difficult time at Old Trafford and eventually moved back to Serie A this summer
“I had an agreement with Manchester City, but for footballing reasons the agreement was reached with United,” he told Peloteros TV.
“I remember the first training with the Red Devils, so many things come to mind. After training, I went home and asked my family and my agent if I could cancel the contract and go back to Arsenal.
“Something was wrong, that didn’t go well. A month goes by and I have the same feeling. At that moment we weren’t united as a team, we weren’t a family, and this was reflected on the pitch.
“And there was someone to blame, they blamed me. Even when I played for a few minutes. We weren’t a group, but I always had to take the blame.”
