Fiorentina midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli has left the Italy camp due to injury, while Luca Pellegrini will join the Under-21 side rather than face the Netherlands.
The Azzurri began their Nations League campaign with a 1-1 home draw against Bosnia-Herzegovina last night, Stefano Sensi’s deflected effort cancelling out the Edin Dzeko opener.
Castrovilli did not take part and he has been sent back home after suffering from tendonitis.
Italy had already seen Federico Bernardeschi, Marco Verratti, Sandro Tonali and Alessandro Bastoni pull out through injury.
Meanwhile, coach Roberto Mancini confirmed during a press conference that Luca Pellegrini will also not be making the trip to Amsterdam for Monday’s Nations League clash with the Netherlands.
Instead, he will go to the Under-21 training camp for their match with Sweden.
