Parma have surprisingly beaten Roma to the signing of Atletico Madrid talent Nehuen Perez, on a two-year loan with option to buy and counter-option.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Sky Sport Italia and more, the 20-year-old centre-back is working out the final details of his move to the Stadio Tardini.
It is reported to be a two-year loan with option to buy for €15m, while Atleti will retain a counter-option to bring him back to base in 2022 for €20m.
Roma had seemed to be very close to an agreement, but Parma jumped in and promised regular Serie A playing time to continue his development.
Already with one senior Argentina international cap under his belt, the youngster was sold to Atletico Madrid for €2.5m in 2018, although he remained on loan at Argentinos Juniors until January 2019.
He spent last season on loan at Famalicao in Portugal.
