Roma coach Paulo Fonseca felt the Giallorossi ‘played with personality’ in the 2-2 draw with Cagliari. ‘I’m seeing positive signs’.
Serie A starts next weekend and Cagliari stunned the Giallorossi in the first half of their pre-season friendly.
La Lupa came out a different team in the second half against former coach Eusebio Di Francesco's side, as they bounced back from being 2-0 down through goals by Cengiz Under and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
“I felt the team played with personality in the first half too,” Fonseca told the official website after the final whistle.
“In the second half the reaction was strong; I’m seeing positive signs.”
Fonseca has been working with the new President Dan Friedkin and CEO Guido Fienga ahead of the upcoming campaign, preparing the squad for the new season.
“I talked to the President and with Fienga,” he added. “We are working together to find the best solutions for the squad.”
Roma start the new season with a trip to the Bentegodi against Hellas Verona next Saturday.
