Cagliari midfielder Marko Rog was pleased with the performance in the 2-2 draw with Roma on Saturday. ‘I hope we can continue like this in the championship’.
The former Napoli midfielder scored the first goal, as the Rossoblu were 2-0 up at half-time against the Giallorossi.
Roma bounced back in the second half, but Rog was ‘happy’ with the effort in the pre-season friendly at the Sardegna Arena.
“I’m happy for the goal and the team’s performance,” Rog told the club’s official website. “We did especially well in the first half, I hope we can continue like this in the championship too.”
Rog said coach Eusebio Di Francesco ‘knows what he wants’ and is sure the Casteddu will ‘improve’ under the former Roma coach.
“The coach has clear ideas, he knows what he wants,” Rog added. “He asks me to get involved in attack and close down in the middle when we defend.
“I must dribble and be found in the right areas of the pitch when we are in possession of the ball.
“Each coach brings his own ideas, but it takes some time to adapt and perfect the movements. We are at a good point, I’m sure we will improve further with the work.”
