Sassuolo and Cagliari enact swap

Sassuolo are ready to sign Filippo Romagna on a permanent basis from Cagliari, sending Alessandro Tripaldelli to Sardinia plus €1m.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Tuttomercatoweb, the deal is practically done and the final details are being discussed.

Romagna had already been at Sassuolo on loan last season, making 18 official appearances in the Neroverdi jersey.

He is currently out of action with a knee injury, but the 23-year-old defender impressed coach Roberto De Zerbi.

It’s reported Sassuolo will purchase Romagna outright in exchange for Italy Under-21 international Tripaldelli and €1m cash.

The 21-year-old left-back is a Sassuolo youth product and had experiences on loan at PEC Zwolle and Crotone.

He made only three appearances for the Neroverdi last season.
