Sassuolo have officially purchased defender Filippo Romagna from Cagliari, with Alessandro Tripaldelli going the other way.
The two clubs completed the exchange this afternoon.
Romagna effectively returns to Sassuolo, as he had already spent last season at the Mapei Stadium on loan.
The 23-year-old is out injured until at least December with a knee ligament tear.
Meanwhile, Italy Under-21 international left-back Tripaldelli is sold to Cagliari.
