However, after some questions were raised, including over his work permit, the clubs agreed it would become a loan at a cost of €3m with option to buy in June 2021 for a further €24m.
The 23-year-old Turkey international had four senior international caps since November 2018, largely due to on-going injury issues.
He was purchased from Istanbul Basaksehir in 2017 for €14.25m.
