While Juventus’ lawyers deal with the Luis Suarez fiasco, the striker has completed his switch to Atletico Madrid from Barcelona.
Suarez seemed all set to become Juve’s new No 9, but the transfer fell through over his inability to secure an Italian passport.
That has since descended into farce, with club lawyers currently in Perugia to meet prosecutors investigating the affair.
In the meantime, Atletico have pounced for the veteran, announcing this afternoon that he had signed a two-year contract and passed a medical.
The former Liverpool ace now looks set to pair up with ex-Napoli hitman and fellow Uruguay international Edinson Cavani in the Spanish capital.
The Bianconeri, for their part, ultimately opted to bring back Alvaro Morata, coincidentally from Atletico.
