Hakan Calhanoglu says he ‘feels at home in Milan’, revealing the love of his family is the ‘secret’ to his surge in form for the Rossoneri.

Calhanoglu bagged another two goals for Milan in their 3-2 win against Bodo/Glimt yesterday, with the attacking midfielder now considered to be playing the best football of his career.

“My secret is my family, my daughter, my wife,” he told Milan TV.

“They always support me, it's my strength and it shows on the pitch. I like playing as a No 10, that’s where I can show my qualities.

“We played well, the important thing is that we won and went through. We aren’t robots, us footballers are normal people but we always have to be professional.

“We have to give 100 percent, our utmost. Our mentality must always be right. We must keep going like this.

“I’m very happy, we have to improve but the important thing is that we won.”

“This is my fourth season at the club. I must thank everyone here, they’ve all put their faith in me and I feel at home.

“I like being here in Milan, I like playing here at San Siro. Now, the only thing we’re missing are our fans.

“Now, we have to look forward and recover well to be at 100%. I have a lot of confidence in me, I thank the coach for letting me play in a position that I like playing in.

“We’re a family and the important thing is to win.”

The Turk also praised young striker Lorenzo Colombo after he scored in Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s absence.

“I’m happy for Colombo, he trains well every day. He played well and now he must keep going like this, he’s still young.

“He moved quickly for the goal after I passed the ball to him. It also happened with Castillejo … in the dressing room, I told him to look out for me in case of a corner.

“And in the second half, he did. He passed the ball to me very well and I scored a great goal.”
