Prosecutors in charge of the investigation involving Luis Suarez and Juventus lawyers say it has been stopped for now due to too many leaks.

Luigi Chiappero and colleague Maria Turco travelled to Perugia today to defend their alleged roles in the Italian language exam that Suarez took prior to his proposed move to the club.

However, Sky reports the seven-hour meeting concluded with the prosecution opting to pause its probe for the time being.

According to chief prosecutor Raffaele Cantone, as per ANSA, the decision was made to reschedule following ‘too many violations of secrecy’.

It comes amidst an onslaught of wiretaps and leaked quotes to the press, namely La Repubblica alleging Juve lawyer Maria Turco had promised the university holding Suarez’s exam that the club would ‘return with more foreign players in the future’.

In the meantime, Turco’s superior Luigi Chiappero spoke of ‘transparency’ in their dealings with the university and maintained the Old Lady were in no way involved.

The former Barcelona striker completed his move to Atletico Madrid this afternoon after his proposed Juve switch fell through, amidst allegations he cheated the language test.
