According to The Athletic, Sassuolo defender Marlon failed a medical and his €15m move to Fulham has therefore collapsed, but Italian reports point to a payment dispute.
The 25-year-old centre-back had agreed terms after the two clubs struck a deal, with Barcelona set to receive 50 per cent of the fee.
However, it’s reported he failed today’s medical and the entire transfer could be abandoned.
The Brazilian had some muscular issues last season, but not for any particularly long spells.
He made 23 Serie A appearances last season and 18 the campaign before that.
The version of events given by Calciomercato.com and Tuttomercatoweb is rather different.
The Italian site maintains Fulham suddenly requested a discount or to spread the payment out over several years, something Sassuolo was not prepared to accept.
