Roberto Pereyra has officially moved back to Udinese after three years at Watford. ‘It’s a fairy-tale signing for us.’
The midfielder had worn the Udinese jersey from 2011 to 2014, before his move to Juventus, then on to Watford for €13.5m in 2016.
Now 29 years old, the midfielder is back in the Friuli region, as Watford and Udinese are both run by the Pozzo family.
“We are very happy to embrace him again, a top international player who needs no presentation,” technical director Pierpaolo Marino told the club website.
“This represents a fairy-tale signing for us.”
Following Watford’s relegation from the Premier League, the Pozzo family are starting to shift their resources back towards Udinese in Serie A.
Pereyra made 104 appearances for Udinese, scoring eight goals.
