Bigon: 'Bologna waiting for Supryaga'

Bologna director Riccardo Bigon confirms a bid for Dinamo Kiev forward Vladyslav Supryaga, while Takehiro Tomiyasu could leave for a ‘remarkable offer.’

The game against Parma kicks off at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT), follow the build-up and action as it happens on the LIVEBLOG.

“We’re working, trying to do our best and stay calm, as we’ve been through many of these transfer deadlines over the years,” Bigon told Sky Sport Italia.

There are nine different nationalities in the Bologna starting XI against Parma this evening.

“There are 19 nationalities within the locker room this year. It’s not a strategy we pursued, as we prefer Italian youth, but the transfer market is moving in that direction now.

“What is a strategy is trying to create a mix of youth and experience, allowing them to help each other in training and on the pitch, to speed up the maturation process.”

Bologna are pursuing Dinamo Kiev striker Supryaga, who has also been linked with Milan.

“We’ve already presented our offer and they will make a decision after the Champions League play-offs, so we can only wait to see how the situation evolves.

“I think it’s difficult to find another profile with his characteristics and financial cost, so he is our main target.”

Milan have also made an approach for Japan international Tomiyasu, who starts today for Bologna in defence.

“As for Tomiyasu, we would not want to sell, but if remarkable offers do arrive, we have to take them into consideration, along with not just the financial aspect, also the technical one of finding a suitable replacement.”

Riccardo Orsolini was benched today in favour of Andreas Skov Olsen.

“Since the post-lockdown period, Orsolini hasn’t quite been at 100 per cent. He has a certain physicality and therefore needs to play and work regularly to stay in shape. At this moment, he’s not at his best, but this is only Week 2 and there’s plenty of time for him to hit his peak.”
