“We always try to do our best and Benevento were real protagonists in Serie B last season,” he told Inter TV.
“They already won a difficult opening game away to Sampdoria, so we mustn’t underestimate these opponents. Inter have changed, so have Benevento, both teams have strengthened over the summer.”
Inter started their campaign with a 4-3 victory over Fiorentina, but were trailing twice before a late flurry of goals.
“As the coach said, we need to be much more balanced in defence and it’s only natural that we attack and defend with 11 players. We’re very determined and effective going forward, so have to make sure we keep that same attitude from everyone when we don’t have possession.”
