Udinese: 'Unworthy offers for De Paul'

Udinese director Pierpaolo Marino assures Rodrigo De Paul is unlikely to leave, as the Leeds United and other offers were ‘not worthy of an Argentina international.’

The Friulani face Spezia at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT), follow the action as it happens on the LIVEBLOG.

De Paul is in the starting XI again and it seems as if talk of a potential move to Leeds or Leicester City is over.

“At the start of the season, people thought he had his bags packed, but I said it’d be a surprise to see him go. We have not received offers worthy of an Argentina international, so it’s only natural he will continue in Udine.

“If the right bid hasn’t arrived yet, I sincerely doubt much will change over the next few days,” Marino told Sky Sport Italia.

He was asked specifically if Leeds United had tried to sign De Paul this summer.

“We had some approaches from many clubs which were frankly not going to be taken seriously. The Pozzo family wants to keep hold of De Paul, a player who is a dream to see training every day and playing for Udinese.”
