The former Chelsea star unleashed a right-foot rocket into the top corner from outside the penalty area, the only goal at the Dacia Arena.

“I am happy for the goal, to have helped the team and the very important three points,” Pedro told DAZN.

“It was a good performance and naturally we are pleased with the win. It’s difficult because Udinese are a tough side to break down and they don’t allow many chances, but we managed to get through and secure the win.

“I scored today, but someone else can score next time, the important thing is that the team wins and we bring home results, because Roma must always play to get the victory.”

Pedro was asked what objective the Giallorossi are aiming for this season and he did not hold back.

“I am happy to be here with these players, I get along with experienced players like Mkhi and Dzeko. Our objective is just aiming to win, taking it one game at a time, and then we’ll see what happens. We’re targeting a place in the Champions League, but the Scudetto is not entirely impossible, albeit difficult.”

There was a special dedication with Pedro’s gesture after scoring the goal.

“My celebration with three fingers was for my children, my partner, but also pointing to the sky because someone very close to me that I knew in my youth in Tenerife has recently died, so it was dedicated to them.”
