Juventus-Napoli result sub judice

The result of Juventus-Napoli is ‘sub judice’ pending an investigation, while Ciro Immobile and Stefano Sensi are given one-match bans for their red cards.

The Disciplinary Commission has released its findings for the Week 3 fixtures and there is a notable absentee, namely the result of the Juventus-Napoli fixture.

It was never played because the Partenopei didn’t make the trip to Turin, insisting they had been ordered not to travel by the local ASL health authority due to the risk of COVID-19 contagion.

The Lega Serie A and Juventus felt there was insufficient evidence for the ASL to over-rule the existing protocol, as only two Napoli players had tested positive.

In theory, Juve should receive a 3-0 win by default, but the result is still shown as ‘sub judice,’ meaning it is pending further investigation and judgment.

Meanwhile, Lazio striker Immobile and Inter midfielder Sensi are both given one-match bans and fined €10,000 for their red cards in the same match.

Both were dismissed for reaction fouls on Arturo Vidal and Patric respectively.

The Disciplinary Commission also ruled it would not take action against Spezia player Riccardo Marchizza for potential violent conduct on Milan’s Alexis Saelemaekers, because it was already viewed by the VAR and considered unworthy of further attention.
