Glik: 'Italy truly strong, but so are Poland'

Poland and Benevento defender Kamil Glik admits Italy are ‘truly a strong team’, but his men can still beat them in the Nations League.

It kicks off in Gdansk on Sunday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

“When you win 15 out of 17 games, it means you are truly a strong team,” Glik told Rai Sport.

“However, we’ve got our strengths too and we can put in a great performance tomorrow.”

The star man for Poland is Robert Lewandowski, who just missed out to Ciro Immobile for the European Golden Shoe award as European league football’s top scorer in 2019-20.

“He certainly would’ve won the Ballon d’Or if that tournament had gone ahead, seeing as he won the Champions League with Bayern Munich and did extraordinary things both in Germany and Europe. It would’ve been the right year for him to win it.”
