Hellas Verona defender Koray Gunter has reassured fans he’s ‘fine’ after testing positive for coronavirus.
This morning the Gialloblu confirmed the centre-back has tested positive for COVID-19 and the player sent a message to the fans on social media.
“It’s too bad because I was focused on my Hellas Verona and the championship,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I want to reassure everyone: I’m fine. I’m calm and I’m sure that I will heal quickly and come back stronger than before.
“See you soon.”
The German 26-year-old has played all three Serie A matches so far and helped Verona keep two clean sheets against Roma and Udinese, before a 1-0 defeat to Parma.
The goalless draw with the Giallorossi ended in a 3-0 win by default because Amadou Diawara was registered as an Under-22, meaning Verona sit sixth with six points from three games.
