“We didn’t expect it. Evidently the defeat in the first leg hurt them and, as far as we can see, they have also changed system,” Salsano told RAI Sport.

“From the players we saw in the list, we get the sensation it’s more of a 3-5-2, but we’ll see when we get out there.”

The Netherlands were expected to play 4-3-3 or even 4-2-3-1.

Italy won 1-0 in Amsterdam when these sides met in the Nations League last month.
