Cagliari patron Tommaso Giulini hopes to have the new stadium ready in 2023 and is willing to listen to offers for Joao Pedro and Alessio Cragno.
The Casteddu are playing in a temporary Sardegna Arena and the coronavirus pandemic has delayed the inauguration date of the new stadium.
“COVID-19 slowed everything down, but we immediately got back to work,” Giulini told Tuttosport. “We won’t be able to inaugurate it in 2022 as we hoped, but I hope to be able in three years.”
Giulini admitted Torino, who targeted Joao Pedro last month, only offered the Rossoblu a swap deal and admitted he would be open to discussing bids that help the club financially for the Brazilian and the Italian goalkeeper Cragno.
“We discussed it with Torino, who only offered us exchange deals,” Giulini said. “I admit that we wouldn’t have ruled out a big sale but only if it had helped us financially. Not a swap deal.
“If an excellent offer arrives [for Cragno], we wouldn’t mind pleasing him. It would be right to evaluate the proposal.”
