Napoli were docked one point and given a 3-0 defeat in the Week 3 fixture after the Disciplinary Commission ruled they should’ve still tried to travel to Turin for the match.
The Partenopei insisted they were ordered to self-isolate and therefore not to travel outside the region after Piotr Zielinski and Eljif Elmas tested positive for COVID-19.

The Partenopei insisted they were ordered to self-isolate and therefore not to travel outside the region after Piotr Zielinski and Eljif Elmas tested positive for COVID-19.
“Our mission is to ensure the tournament reaches its conclusion,” Lega Serie A chief De Siervo told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“The Lega therefore could not postpone the game between Juve and Napoli. The protocol works, everyone respects the rules, but as we can see from the paperwork, there was a short-circuit in Naples when it comes to communication.
“The Lega Serie A has nothing to do with it. The information provided to us by Napoli did not warrant postponement of the match.”
There were the fears that by allowing Napoli to reschedule their game, it would’ve set a legal precedent for other clubs to pull out of fixtures, destroying the existing agreed-upon protocol.
“We have to keep going and respect the protocol. If the season doesn’t come to a natural end, then all of football will unfortunately have failed.”
