Ivan Juric said Hellas Verona are ‘under construction’ but arrive at the Allianz Stadium ‘motivated’ to ‘play our game’ against Juventus on Sunday.
Verona finished ninth last term and have started with seven points in four games but haven’t won since Serie A Week 2 against Udinese.
Juric believes the Gialloblu are prepared and ‘motivated’ to bounce back against reigning champions Juventus on Sunday.
“The team are fine, we arrive motivated,” Juric said at a press conference. “We get Barak back, who has recovered from COVID and tomorrow we will evaluate his condition.
“Matches against Juventus are always special and fascinating. We are going to play our game; we are under construction and we need time to regroup.”
Verona’s defence have been praised as one of the tightest in Europe but Juric wanted to give the whole team credit.
“These questions are never asked because they bring bad luck,” he responded. “The team worked well defensively, and I mean the whole team, not just the defence.
“In certain situations, it went our way, but in the last one we were very good.”
Nikola Kalinic signed with Verona on transfer deadline day and Juric said he still needs time.
“He’s working, trying hard and trying to get into shape. For attackers like him, who live off explosiveness, it takes some time,” the coach added.
“Then, let’s see if he can claim a place, which is not given away. My idea is to insert him gradually.”
