Sinisa Mihajlovic was again left frustrated with his Bologna side after a 2-1 defeat to Lazio. ‘We play well and end up with zero points.’

Luis Alberto and Ciro Immobile got the decisive goals at the Stadio Olimpico, with Lorenzo De Silvestri’s strike coming too late to snatch an equaliser.

“It’s been three games now we’ve been saying the same things, which are that Bologna play well, have lots of chances, deserve more and yet end up with zero points,” the coach told DAZN.

“I feel bad for the lads, because we get punished at the first mistake. Evidently we’re unlucky too, but you have to earn your own luck and do something more.

“We’ve always put the performance in, playing as well or even better than our opponents, but we need more determination both in front of the goal and when defending our own goal. It’s tough, because players tend to have the goal in their blood or they don’t and it’s difficult to teach that.

Lazio had two shots on target in 90 minutes and scored two goals. We had about 18 and scored one. It’s a young and naïve squad, so we know there are going to be ups and downs.

“Most of the goals we concede are not on the counter-attack, they are on our individual errors. It’s not a tactical issue then, it’s one of individual quality.”
