Crotone boss Giovanni Stroppa believes Luca Cigarini’s red card was a ‘hasty decision’ although he noticed an improvement in his team.
“You can’t play a games like this without bring home points,” Stroppa said in a press conference after Crotone’s 4-2 defeat to Cagliari that saw Luca Cigarini being sent off in the second half.
“I do not know if it was decisive, but playing with one man down at that time was not easy. The team reacted well, I can perhaps say that the referee was a bit hasty.”
Stroppa, however, is satisfied with his side’s performance at the Sardegna Arena.
"I saw the players scared in some situations, with little courage. Too bad to have taken the third goal practically out of time in the first half, for the rest it was a good game.
“We could definitely close the first half ahead, instead we went to the locker room one goal down.
“Strangely, we improved after the red card. We had more quality in the ball possession and we had several opportunities to grab a result that we would have deserved.”
