Inter announced that Romelu Lukaku has suffered a thigh injury and is out of this weekend’s Serie A match with Parma.

The striker had played in the 0-0 Champions League draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in Kiev.

“Romelu Lukaku underwent an MRI scan at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano this morning following a problem that arose during Tuesday's Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk,” read a statement.

The striker had played in the 0-0 Champions League draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in Kiev.

“Romelu Lukaku underwent an MRI scan at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano this morning following a problem that arose during Tuesday's Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk,” read a statement.

“The scans showed that he has suffered a strain in his left thigh. His condition will be monitored daily.”

It does not specify the extent of the damage, but it’s safe to say the Belgian will be out of Saturday’s Serie A meeting with Parma.

The race is on to have him back against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
