Antonio Conte’s men are fresh from a morale-boosting midweek Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund here, decided by Lautaro Martinez – who also had a penalty saved – and Antonio Candreva.

That was Lautaro Martinez’s fourth goal in as many matches for his club.

The injuries remain an issue, missing Alexis Sanchez, Matias Vecino, Stefano Sensi, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Andrea Ranocchia.

Despite reports he could be rested in favour of 17-year-old Sebastiano Esposito, Lukaku does start with Lautaro Martinez upfront, while Roberto Gagliardini is again in midfield.

Parma have even worse problems to deal with, as Roberto Inglese and Andreas Cornelius are out of action for at least a couple of weeks, leaving them with no centre-forwards.

It means Gervinho is moved to the main attacking role, with Dejan Kulusevski and former Inter winger Yann Karamoh flanking him.

Bruno Alves, Vincent Laurini and Alberto Grassi are also unavailable.

This is particularly costly, as Cornelius scored a hat-trick in last week’s 5-1 thrashing of Genoa, but it means Parma have only six players on the bench.

Parma won here last season, but that was a very different Inter. Only three of the last 20 Serie A meetings between these clubs have been draws, with 11 Inter wins and six for Parma.

Inter: Handanovic; Skriniar, Godin, Bastoni; Candreva, Gagliardini, Brozovic, Barella, Biraghi; R Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez

Parma bench: Colombi, Alastra, Brugman, Barillà, Sprocati, Pezzella
