Antonin Barak scored a brace to secure Verona’s 3-1 win against Benevento and has claimed he had a difficult time when he was diagnosed with COVID.
The former Udinese man caught the virus while on International duty last month.
“It was a difficult time,” he told Sky Sport after Verona’s 3-1 win over Benevento.
“I was with the national team, there was confusion.
“Staying at home for ten days is not easy, then on Wednesday we played 120 minutes [in Coppa Italia].
“I want to achieve a great team result. I want us all to grow up and have a great season.”
"It was a very difficult game for me. Benevento had great desire to win, they have excellent players but for us it was very important to bring home the result.
“I am very happy for the team, it is not easy to play against a team that presses for the whole game. I am happy for the three points".
