Dybala has struggled after his latest setback and has been criticised in the Italian media for his attitude and form in the start of the new campaign.

His former President at Palermo, who said in 2015 that the Argentine would become the new Lionel Messi, doesn’t understand how Dybala could be on the bench in Serie A and admitted he has advised the Argentine to move for three years.

“I’m still convinced. Paulo is a champion but also a very good boy,” Zamparini told Tuttosport. “I don’t understand why so many tend to forget that.

“That he’s not a starter in Serie A is blasphemy. Paulo should have followed my advice for three years, to leave Juve.

“His football is fantasy, it’s more suited for Barcelona or Real Madrid, but he always told me he felt good at Juve.

“Now, I would give him the same advice. Paulo is a champion and not a vice. At Juventus there’s already Cristiano Ronaldo and with CR7 at Juve, I advise Paulo to become number one elsewhere.

“We haven’t heard from each other for a while, but I’m fond of him, and then I like quality players like Paulo, Messi, Ronaldo, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic.”
