Udinese midfielder Roberto Pereyra has been diagnosed with a muscular injury while on international duty with Argentina.
A statement from the Argentine Federation points out that he will not take part in the next two games due to a muscular lesion to the left leg.
They were at pains to make clear that this injury “was sustained while playing for his club.”
Pereyra therefore flew out to Argentina for the medical only to be sent straight back to Italy.
Argentina are playing 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay on Thursday and Peru on Tuesday.
