Lazio’s lawyer assures they were able to ‘clarify’ their situation after their chief medic was interviewed as part of an investigation into COVID-19 tests.

The FIGC began the investigation after Ciro Immobile, Lucas Leiva and Thomas Strakosha twice tested negative for COVID-19, but were positive when tested by UEFA and a different laboratory in Rome.

A police investigation has also been launched into the laboratory in Avellino that analysed the Lazio swabs.

Today, Lazio chief medic Ivo Pulcini was interviewed by the FIGC investigative team as a witness.

“In a cordial atmosphere, we had a meeting with the disciplinary commission, who asked us for clarification on what happened,” said Lazio lawyer Gian Michele Gentile.

“We gave them the information they asked for and consider ourselves satisfied with the process.”

Lazio have insisted if there were some irregularities in the testing procedure, then they should be considered an injured party.
