Roma: Smalling suffers food poisoning

Chris Smalling didn’t train with Roma due to severe food poisoning and the English defender is uncertain ahead of the match against Parma.

The Giallorossi revealed the centre-back has suffered severe food poisoning and now has only three days to get back in shape for Sunday’s match.

Smalling, who returned on a permanent deal on transfer deadline day, did individual work due to the problem but according to Sky Sport, the former Manchester United defender should be fit to play on Sunday.

The 30-year-old has only played two times in Serie A so far this term, as he has recently returned from injury.
