The Italy international has been out for over two weeks, with confusion over previous tests that were positive for UEFA, yet negative in the version completed by the club.

He had been due to undergo a health check today with the Lega Serie A to confirm his return to action, but it was abruptly cancelled.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Radio Radio and others, it’s because the local health authority swab came back positive.

Immobile is reported to be absolutely distraught at the outcome, increasingly frustrated that he cannot contribute to his team.

Once again, it’s claimed the swab performed by Lazio was negative and the one from the local health authority (ASL) was positive.
